Join us on Sunday, September 14th for the 23rd Annual Lead King Loop Charity Race in beautiful Marble, Colorado!
Get ready for a great day of running through the spectacular fall colors in the heart of Colorado's Elk Mountain range. Run, walk, or hike the 25k loop around Lead King Basin. Zip past the famous Crystal Mill and ghost town of Crystal. Enjoy a delicious homemade pack lunch from Slow Groovin' BBQ and beer (age appropriate, lunch included with entry). All proceeds benefit the Marble Charter School.
Course Description
The 25K dirt road course starts at Thompson Park in the quaint and historic mining town of Marble. Rounding Beaver Lake, you will climb 2,900 vertical feet over approximately 4 miles into beautiful Lead King Basin. Here you will traverse at 10,000 feet before rolling down past waterfalls, through the old mining town of Crystal and pass the famous 110-year-old Crystal Mill to then climb out of the river valley and scream back down Daniel’s Hill to the finish line.

- Saturday, September 13th: Advance Packet Pickup/Late Registration 10AM - 6PM in Carbondale at Independence Run and Hike
- Sunday, September 14: Event Day - Thompson Park
- 6:15 AM - Bib Pickup
- 7:00 AM - Hikers/Walkers 25K Start
- 8:30 AM - Runners 25K Start
- 8:45 AM - Quarry Climb Start
- 9:00 AM - Kids 2.5K Start
- 2:00 PM - Course Cutoff (strictly enforced for safety)
