LAVENDER RUN EVENT INFORMATION
Event Location: Alvarado Elementary School, 1100 Solar Rd. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107
IMPORTANT: NO PARKING AT ALVARADO ELEMENTARY. Please use designated parking locations at Los Poblanos Open Space (5601 Tierra Viva Pl. NW) or Hartnett Park (6718 Rio Grande Blvd. NW).

Lavender Run participants (13 and over) will receive complimentary entry into the 19th annual Lavender Festival on Saturday, July 26, 2026. The festival includes live music, free yoga classes, a Kids Camp, wellness seminars, cooking demonstrations, and 70 artisans.
START: The Lavender Run will start in front of the Alvarado Elementary School.
Timing: All participants entered in results and eligible for awards must wear a Timing Chip/Bib. The "official time" starts when the gun/horn goes off. 10K and 5K use a Gun Start with a Timing Chip finish. Kids K start is at 9:15 a.m.
Course Information: Courses will be well-marked with volunteers and aid stations.

Awards:
10K: Overall prizes for top three men and women (gun time). Age group prizes awarded in various categories.
5K: Overall prizes for top three men and women (gun time). Age group prizes awarded in various categories.
Kids K: All registered participants (11 and under) receive a special recognition award.
Post-Race: Refreshments and Awards Ceremony immediately following the Kids K.
Medical Support: Medical staff and radio communications personnel will be positioned at aid/water stations. Event officials have the right to withdraw any runner in distress.
What is NOT allowed: Video devices, cell phones, computers, cameras, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles, or any other unauthorized wheeled devices.
Baby Joggers/Strollers: Allowed, but must stay behind all other runners and not impede others. Ensure safety for child and others.
Dogs: Allowed on a short leash.
Inclement Weather Policy: Weather forecasts will be monitored. Athletes will be notified via the RunFit website (www.irunfit.org) and email for severe weather updates, potential course alterations, or event cancellation. Visible lightning will postpone the race for a minimum of 15 minutes per sighting.
