Lakeland Paws: Whinlatter Double Header
The final event of Lakeland Paws Season 5 takes place at Whinlatter as the second race of a double header weekend and includes the season prize giving at the end.
Two fully marked route options follow forest roads and trails around Seat How and return to the visitors centre. The longer route is an 8K loop reaching the summit of Seat How with about 360m of ascent. The shorter route is a 5K option that avoids the summit and joins the second half of the longer course. There are no cut-offs and participants may walk sections if they wish.
Dogs are allowed but some sections of the original summit route are narrower and steeper; therefore only one dog per runner is permitted on that course and dogs must run on a suitable harness. Harnesses are available to borrow, provided by Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may also compete without dogs.
The event is chip timed and marked. GPX files for the routes are available to download.
