La Grosse Bertha: A Race to Remember
Join us for La Grosse Bertha, a unique running event that blends historical commemoration with athletic challenge. This year's race takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Ans, Belgium.
Historical Immersion
The event offers a deep dive into the history of World War I, specifically focusing on the defense of Liège. You'll explore the interiors of WWI forts and the Château de Waroux, a site with a rich history dating back to the 13th century. The Fort de Loncin, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a key part of this historical journey.
Run in the Name of History
Forget traditional bib numbers. During this race, you become a part of history by carrying the name of a defender of Loncin. Discover their story upon finishing the race.
