KIT Meisterschaft 2026
The 12. KIT Meisterschaft will take place in Karlsruhe on Saturday, July 4, 2026. This is a 10-kilometer officially measured and record-eligible running course.
Start and Finish
Start: Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:30 AM on Engler-Bunte-Ring, approximately 50 meters south of the Institute for Sport and Sports Science (KIT Campus Süd, Building 40.40). Address: Engler-Bunte-Ring 13, 76131 Karlsruhe.
Finish: Leichtathletikstadion of KIT Campus Süd. Address: Engler-Bunte-Ring 13, 76131 Karlsruhe.
Registration and Fees
Registration is available online or via our partner RaceResult. The entry fee is €8 for students and staff, and €12 for external participants. This fee includes a 50-cent contribution to the public running association.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, July 1, 2026, or when the participant limit of 1200 runners is reached.
Late Registration: If the limit is not reached, late registrations with an additional fee of €3 will be possible during bib pickup on July 3, 2026, and on the event day up to 30 minutes before the start.
Bib Pickup
Friday, July 3, 2026: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Institute for Sport and Sports Science (KIT Campus Süd, Building 40.40).
Event Day: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM at the Institute for Sport and Sports Science.
Course Details
The 10km course is flat and runs from the Institute for Sport and Sports Science, through the KIT Campus Süd, one loop through the Hardtwald forest, back to Campus Süd, and finishes on the blue tartan track of the Leichtathletikstadion. The course is almost exclusively on paved paths and well-maintained forest trails.
Timing and Scoring
Gross time will be measured using an RFID chip on the bib. Please do not bend the bib to avoid damaging the chip.
Categories: Age groups according to DLV (from U18), overall male/female winners, and team classification (top four fastest runners per team).
Awards and Prize Money
The fastest KIT student/staff member will be awarded the title "KIT Meister/in 10 km 2026". The top three overall male and female finishers will also receive awards. The top three teams will also be recognized.
Overall Winners:
- Female: 1st place - €50, 2nd place - €25, 3rd place - €10
- Male: 1st place - €50, 2nd place - €25, 3rd place - €10
KIT Champions:
- Female: 1st place - €50, 2nd place - Sachpreis, 3rd place - Sachpreis
- Male: 1st place - €50, 2nd place - Sachpreis, 3rd place - Sachpreis
Team Classification: Sachpreis for all top three teams.
Award ceremony will be around 11:00 AM at the stadium.
Results
Results will be published on the event website and RaceResult after the race concludes.
Facilities
Changing Rooms: Available at the Institute for Sport and Sports Science (KIT Campus Süd, Building 40.40).
Bag Drop: One bag per runner can be stored at the Institute for Sport and Sports Science. No liability is assumed for stored items.
Warm-Up: A short warm-up will take place in the start area from 9:15 AM until shortly before the start.
