Kirschlauf Gierstädt
The Kirschlauf Gierstädt, organized by USV Erfurt, has a tradition spanning over 20 years. The event takes place in Kleinfahner (Gotha district) and was first organized on June 16, 2001. Under the motto "Wer läuft erlebt was" (Whoever runs experiences something), participants can choose from several race categories.

- 14 Km Main Race (Hauptlauf): A challenging route primarily on the Höhenweg.
- 4.5 Km Short Course (Jedermannslauf): A demanding route into the Imtal valley.
- 1 Km Student Race (Schülerlauf): Available for boys and girls.
- 300 Meter Toddler Run (Bambinilauf): For the youngest participants.
- Nordic Walking & XXL: Options for 14 Km.

- 8:00 AM: Opening and distribution of start documents
- 9:00 AM: Start 1 Km Boys' Student Race
- 9:20 AM: Start 1 Km Girls' Student Race
- 9:40 AM: Start 14 Km Nordic Walking and XXL
- Approx. 9:45 AM: Award ceremony for Student Race
- 10:00 AM: Start 4.5 Km Jedermannslauf and 14 Km Main Race
- Approx. 10:30 AM: Start 300 Meter Bambinilauf
- Approx. 11:30 AM: Award Ceremony
Registration
Registration is open until June 9, 2026, 24:00. Late registrations are possible online from June 13, 2026, 2:00 AM, and on the day of the event up to 30 minutes before the start, with an additional 5 Euro fee.
The start and award ceremonies are traditionally conducted by the Thuringian Cherry Queen. The Kirschlauf is also a qualifying race in the TLV-Laufcup.
