Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon and 8K
The 9th Annual Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Kakabeka Falls, ON, Canada. Races start and finish at the Legion. Participants may choose from the following distances:

- Half Marathon
The course runs on a closed section of the TransCanada Highway, crosses two bridges with scenic views, and includes the Poplar Point Trail in Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park. The route also covers the rolling hills of Luckens Road. The event supports the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225.
New for 2026 is the Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge, which links this race with the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race. Runners who complete both events cover a total of 23.1 miles and may receive a commemorative finishing coin. Registration for the challenge costs $15, places are limited, and challenge registration closes May 1, 2026. Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge
The year 2026 marks two important anniversaries in local running; the 90th running of the Firefighters 10 Mile Road Race and the 9th Running of the Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon. To celebrate, we have joined forces and created the "Fire and Falls Legacy Challenge" for this year only. Participants who complete BOTH the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race and the Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon (a total of 23.1 miles) will earn a unique finishing challenge coin. Registration in the Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge closes May 1, 2026. The coin will only be awarded to those who sign up in advance and have an OFFICIAL finishing time in BOTH races.
