Joy in Action - Overview
Joy in Action is a series of community events organized by The Joy Smith Foundation in Manitoba. Main event dates and locations listed are Steinbach (July 25, 2026), Brandon (August 8, 2026) and Selkirk (August 22, 2026). The events bring people together to move with purpose and support work to prevent human trafficking.
Program elements include timed competitive runs with awards for top overall and age group finishers, fun run/walks featuring optional JOY Stations and creative spirit awards, and a non competitive 36 km cycle from Selkirk Park to Netley Creek that welcomes cyclists of various abilities.
Registration uses tiered pricing with early bird and late rates, and timed events include a small additional fee to cover extra expenses. The early bird entry discount ends May 31. Youth ages 13 to 18 receive a $10 registration discount. Children 12 and under can register free when accompanying a registered adult.
The event is also a fundraising challenge. As participants fundraise they earn incentives, compete for prizes, and contribute directly to prevention efforts and survivor supports run by The Joy Smith Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
