Isle of Wight Marathon (2026)
The Isle of Wight Marathon is an annual full marathon held on the west side of the Isle of Wight. The 2026 race marks the 70th men's running and the 51st women's running; the event has been held continuously since 1957 and is listed by the Association of Road Racing Statisticians among long-running marathons.
The course is a single lap on quieter, scenic town and rural roads through Cowes, Gurnard, Rew Street, Porchfield, Shalfleet, Yarmouth, Thorley, Chessell, Ningwood and Northwood. The route is undulating and not suitable for wheelchairs. Marker boards are placed at each mile. Water stations (water only) are sited at approximately 3.6m, 6.4m, 9.7m, 12.8m, 16m, 18.6m, 21.6m and 24.5m. There are no public or race-provided toilets on the course; a small number of businesses have agreed runners may use facilities near 7.5/17.5, 14.5, 21.6 and 25 miles.
Race HQ is Isle of Wight Community Club, Park Road, Cowes; changing, showers and bag storage are available. The event operates under UKA rules with a race licence. Entry is limited to 400 and the minimum age is 18. Entry fee tiers include early bird, standard and on-the-day prices. The official finish time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes. Bone-conduction headphones are permitted; in-ear or over-ear headphones and running with dogs are not allowed.
Prizes are awarded for top finishers and veteran categories; medals are given to all finishers. A refund policy and entry-transfer options apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
