Ingleborough Mountain Race
The Ingleborough Mountain Race is a fell race held in Ingleton, United Kingdom, as part of the town's annual Gala day. The course starts on the sports field next to Ingleton Community Centre, proceeds through the village, and follows a public footpath up to the summit of Ingleborough before returning by the same route. The race is run under Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules.
Course Details:
- Distance: Approximately 11 km (6.8 miles)
- Climb: Approximately 600 m (1,968 ft)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
Rules and Kit:
All runners must adhere to FRA principles of fell running. Mandatory minimum kit includes waterproof whole body cover (jacket with taped seams and integrated hood, over trousers with taped seams), hat, gloves, map of the route, compass, whistle, and emergency food. A kit check will be conducted at registration. Organisers may adjust kit requirements based on weather conditions.
Entry and Registration:
- Entries are open and can be made online via SI Entries.
- Entry Fee: FRA members: £12, Non-FRA members: £15.
- Entry on the day may be possible at £15 if the race limit is not reached. Payment is cash only.
- Registration and number collection will be at the Ingleton Community Centre.
Facilities and Parking:
- Toilets are available in the car park next to the Community Centre.
- There is a paid car park operated by Craven District Council next to the Community Centre. Several free car parks are available elsewhere in Ingleton.
- Accommodation options include campsites, a YHA, and Bed & Breakfast locations.
Prize Giving:
Prize giving will take place on the Gala field as circumstances permit.
