HU5k Run – Run 5k in the Cotswolds
HU5k is a community organised 5k run in and around the village of Hawkesbury Upton. The event takes place on 20th June 2026 and starts and finishes at Hawkesbury Village Hall GL9 1AT. It is organised by village volunteers in support of Hawkesbury Primary PTA and helps to fund resources at Hawkesbury Primary School.
The route visits sections of the Cotswold Way and offers views across South Gloucestershire. The course is gently undulating and uses roads and tracks that are paved or earth surfaced, with short sections on grass footpath. Route markings appear at each kilometre and marshals in high visibility will be positioned at key points. A tail runner and a First Aid team will be present. Water is available on route and at the finish and runners are encouraged to bring their own bottles.
Facilities at the village hall include changing areas, toilets and ticketed bag storage. Food, drinks and some music are available on the morning and after the race. Finishers receive medals and winner medals will be awarded to the fastest runners in each age category. Entry fees are tiered by age, with adult pre-registration fees shown as £13. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
