Holzlandlauf - The Traditional Race in the Holzland
The Holzlandlauf will take place in Hermsdorf on Saturday, September 12, 2026, starting at 8:30 AM.
Disciplines and Start Times:
- Half Marathon (Age U20+): Start 09:30 Uhr, Registration Fee: 13 €
- 11 km (Age U18+): Start 10:00 Uhr, Registration Fee: 11 €
- 5 km (Age U16+): Start 10:10 Uhr, Registration Fee: 6 €
- 11 km Walking / Nordic Walking (Age U18+): Start after 11 km run (approx. 10:00 Uhr), Registration Fee: 11 €
- 400 m (Zuckertütenlauf, for school beginners Jg. 2019/20): Start 09:45 Uhr, Free
- 800 m (Schüler U10, U12): Start 10:15 Uhr, Registration Fee: 3 €
- 1.600 m (Schüler U14): Start 11:15 Uhr, Registration Fee: 3 €

Werner-Seelenbinder-Sporthalle, 07629 Hermsdorf. For navigation: 07629 Hermsdorf/Thüringen, An der Sporthalle or Erich-Weinert-Str. 25. Accessible by public transport from Hermsdorf-Klosterlausnitz train station (approx. 600 m walk).
New for 2026:
The Holzlandlauf is now part of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA)! All forest runs are part of the ITRA National League, allowing participants to collect points for the national ITRA ranking. This makes the 2026 event even more exciting for both competitive and hobby runners.
Parking:
Available at the schoolyards of the Regelschule and Gymnasium. Follow directions from marshals. Parking is in the vicinity of the Werner-Seelenbinder-Sporthalle.
Awards:
Trophies for overall winners (800m, 1600m, 5km, 11km, Half Marathon, Walking/Nordic Walking). Small trophies and certificates for age group winners. Company award for the team with the most kilometers. All finishers receive a wooden medal and can print a certificate online.
Services:
Changing rooms, showers, and secure baggage storage available.
Refreshments:
11 km course: One aid station (water, tea, fruit, bread, banana).
Half Marathon course: Two aid stations (water, tea, fruit, bread, banana).
At the finish area: water, tea, fruit, bread. For purchase: coffee, cake, sausages, beer, soda.
Participation with Dogs:
Not permitted for safety and organizational reasons, except for clearly marked assistance dogs.
