GPS: Not allowed for navigation.
Skills & Experience Required: ER, LK, NS. Competitors must have the skills to navigate and be self-sufficient on remote moors in potentially wintry conditions.
Minimum Age: 18 years old on race day.
Mandatory Kit: Full Fell Runners Association mandatory kit required, including a foil blanket or bivvy bag, minimum 0.5 litre water capacity, and an extra long-sleeved thermal base layer (not worn at the start).
Course: This tough 31.7-mile race traverses gritstone moors and trails with short road sections. In exceptional circumstances, a 21-mile bad weather course may be used.
Refreshments: Six feed stations with basic food and drinks; stations 3-5 offer hot options. Pre and post-race refreshments, hot food, and cake are provided.
Charities & Support: The event is volunteer-run and raises money for local charities, good causes, and Keighley and Craven Athletic Club juniors. 15 free places are offered to active UK Search & Rescue team members.
Recce Runs: Guided reccy runs are organised in winter months.
