Hare Prix 10k - A Watkins Glen Road Race
The Hare Prix 10k offers a unique running experience on the historic roads of Watkins Glen, NY. This event is designed for runners and walkers, with multiple registration options to suit your preferences.
Start and Finish
Start Line: Lawn of the Schuyler County Courts, 105 9th St, Watkins Glen
Finish Line: Lucky Hare Brewing Bar & Grill, 2 Seneca Harbor Dr, Watkins Glen
Race Course
The 10k course is 100% on roads or sidewalks, tracing the original Grand Prix circuit. Runners must obey traffic signals, particularly at the intersection of Franklin St (NY-14), where traffic will not be stopped. Failure to comply may result in disqualification, injury, or worse.
Key Details
- Cutoff Time: 3 hours (12:00 PM)
- Aid Station: Approximately at mile 2.9 on Whites Hollow Rd, offering water, electrolyte drink, and bananas.
- Post-Race Refreshments: A free drink token at the Lucky Hare Marina location (valid Saturday) and finish line snacks for all participants.
- Post-Race Party: Enjoy live music, food, and drinks at the Lucky Hare Brewing, Watkins Glen Marina.
- Prizes: Raffle prizes will be drawn at 11:00 AM. Registration automatically enters you into the raffle. Additional awards for age groups and overall winners.
Race Day Schedule
- Check-in: 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM on the courthouse lawn. Pre-ordered shirts can be picked up here.
- Race Announcements: ~8:50 AM near the check-in area.
- Race Start: 9:00 AM on Franklin St at the Grand Prix sign.
Virtual Option
Participate from anywhere with the Virtual Run/Walk option, which includes a T-shirt and Finisher Award.
Logistics & Parking
Consider parking near the finish line at the Lucky Hare Marina and walking to the registration/start area (approx. 0.5 miles, flat). Alternatively, check in first, then relocate to the marina.
