Hammond Scottish Festival 5K Kilt Run/Walk
Join us for the Hammond Scottish Festival 5K Kilt Run/Walk on Saturday, July 11, 2026. This is a fun, non-competitive event where participants are encouraged to wear a kilt to embrace the Celtic spirit!
Race Details
- Check-in: Starts at 7:45 a.m. at the Hammond Historical Museum.
- Race Start: Promptly at 8:30 a.m., led by a bagpiper.
- Route: The course starts at the museum, proceeds down County Route 6 through scenic farmland and past historic stone houses, with a turn-around point near an 1830s Scottish stone home overlooking a pond. The race finishes back at the museum.
- Kilt Requirement: To participate, all runners/walkers MUST wear a tartan kilt with an apron front and pleated back.
- Non-Competitive: Times will be provided at the Finish Line, but this is a non-competitive event.
Registration and Pricing
Online registration closes on July 10th. On-the-day registration is available.
Youth Division (Ages 7-12):
- February 1 - April 30: $10.00
- May 1 - July 9: $15.00
Adult Division (Ages 13+):
- February 1 - February 28: $20.00
- March 1 - March 31: $25.00
- April 1 - April 30: $30.00
- May 1 - July 9: $35.00
Registration Perks and Prizes
- Free T-shirt: Register by Friday, July 3rd to receive a free T-shirt (a $15 value).
- Festival Admission: All registered participants receive a free admission ticket to the Hammond Scottish Festival (a $10 value).
- Refreshments: Beverages will be provided after the race.
- Prizes: Special prizes for the first male and female finishers in both adult and youth divisions.
- Grand Prize Drawing: The first 100 registrants in EACH division are eligible for a grand prize drawing (Adult: $100 Cash; Youth: Pizza Package). Must be present to win. Drawings immediately following the race.

After the race, enjoy the Hammond Scottish Festival which kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with:
