Grady's Superhero Run
Grady’s Superhero Run is a family-friendly 5k and kid’s fun run, with the addition of a virtual run option this year. The in-person event will be hosted in Dorchester, IA, starting in front of Knotty Marie's on Waterloo Creek Dr. The fun run will head west on Waterloo Creek Drive approximately 1.5 miles and loop back to the starting spot.
Following the run, enjoy a bounce house, kids’ games, prize giveaways, and a DJ. Entertainment and a light meal will be served at Knotty Marie's yard (free will donation).
Event Purpose:
This is a memorial run for Grady Lundgren-Hammel, an ambitious, loving, and energetic boy who passed away on December 29, 2022, after a courageous battle with a rare NUT Protein Carcinoma. His mother, Dana, created this event to give back to the community, raise awareness for NUT protein carcinoma, and create a fun event to memorialize her son.
Proceeds from the run will be divided between families experiencing medical issues and the Grady Lundgren-Hammel memorial scholarship at local schools.
