Go Cross Beer Mile Relay
The Go Cross Beer Mile Relay returns to Virginia's Blue Ridge Go Cross presented by Fat Tire at Fallon Park on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:15pm. This beer mile is a team relay race with 4 parts beer and 4 parts running. It is designed to raise the vibe and get everyone ready to cheer (& heckle) for the pros. Prizes will be provided by RunAbout Sports to the top team and for the team with the best costumes. This year's theme is Be Kind, Rewind 90's Blockbusters!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- The cost of the race is $28 PER TEAM if you register by 9/6/24 at midnight and $36 PER TEAM after.
- Onsite registration will be available at the ID Check and Beer Tent until 1:30pm on race day.
- A minimum of two racers are required per team, and a maximum of four.
- The race briefing will take place at 2:00pm at the RunAbout tent and it is mandatory for all runners.
- This race will be held in the in-field of the course.
- The race will consist of 4 laps of ~1/4 mile each.
- The beers will be 16 oz. pints.
BEER RELAY GUIDELINES:
- ALL participants must be 21 or older
- Participants must have proof of age and obtain an ID band from the ID tent prior to the event
- Two to four members per relay team (Minimum of two per team)
- Beer must be consumed before starting each lap
- Participants must alternate on each lap (if less than four teammates)
- On laps 2,3, and 4 participants must be tagged by preceding teammate before beginning their lap
- Unnecessary contact with other participants could result in disqualification (beer mile is not a contact sport)
- Mandatory high fives to each other after completing the race
- Most importantly: have fun, laugh, and smile for the cameras ;)
SETTING UP TEAM Only one person from each team needs to initially set up their team with a password and pay the one time fee. Once the team is created other team members can select that team via the drop down menu and follow through to confirm registration. Only the person setting up the team will pay the fee.
