Report on the 1st Freisinger Straßenlauf powered by Munich Airport
What a day! The morning of the 1st Freisinger Straßenlauf powered by Munich Airport on October 26, 2025, began with heavy rain and gusty winds – but just in time for the starting signal, the sun came out and ensured the best running mood.
Nearly 300 runners set off on the fully asphalted and closed-off course around the Stoibermühlsee in the north of Munich Airport – and competed in exciting races and many personal bests in the fresh autumn air. The numerous spectators along the course, our moderation team, and the music also contributed to a great atmosphere.
A special thank you goes to everyone who made this event possible in the first place:
- Freiwillige Feuerwehr Freising – for closing off the 1st turning point
- Freiwillige Feuerwehr Marzling – for closing off the 2nd and 3rd turning points
- Wasserwacht Freising – for electricity, parking space, and medical services
- LC Freising – for providing the facility including timing
- Jürgen Mieskes (Sportreferent Stadt Freising) – for organizing the finish arch
- Stefan Tesar and Vincent Weiß – for the excellent moderation and musical accompaniment
- Munich Airport – for the trust as title sponsor to support the event
- Fresch Freising, Junkers Café und Chocolaterie Muschler – for providing our winner vouchers
- Erdinger Alkoholfrei und REWE Lerchenfeld – for the finish catering
- Freisinger Bank, AOK Freising, PPP-Training & Landschaftsbau Wimmer – for the support as event partners
- Junkers Café – for the delicious coffee on the event day
- Sport2000 und Velosoph Freising – for providing the prize money
- Maximilian Blank (Gemeinde Marzling) – for the uncomplicated support in the approval process
- Peter Teichmann (Glyx_Photo) und Jonas Pollmann – for capturing the event with video and camera
- Mandy Kröger – for conducting 27 typizations for Aktion Knochenmarkspende Bayern (AKB)
- Bauhof Freising – for providing the barriers and pylons for course marking
- All helpers on site who made time to contribute to club life
We are delighted with the much positive feedback and already have plans for 2026: The course will be officially measured next year – the second edition will take place again at the end of October.
