Forfar Triathlon
Welcome to the sixth Forfar Triathlon delivered by Tri Angus Limited. We are organising two races on Sunday, 26 July 2026. These are:
- Novice race ideal for those new to triathlon, and
- Sprint race for those with a little more experience or who are a little more daring!
The races are based at Forfar Community Campus. The swim takes place in the superb 6 lane swimming pool. The bike route works its way through Forfar before introducing you to some of the local countryside. Finally, participants will enjoy some stunning scenery on the run route as it hugs the banks of Forfar Loch. The distances are shown below.

Prizes
There will be prizes for the following overall winners in each event:
- 1st Open/Female
- 2nd Open/Female
- 3rd Open/Female
Prize-giving will take place at the finish area after the last participant finishes, weather permitting.
Tayside Mountain Rescue
Tayside Mountain Rescue is the official charity partner of the 2026 Forfar Triathlon. There is no obligation to fundraise but Tayside Mountain Rescue (TMR) would love it if you could support them, no matter how small your donation. No portion of the entry fee goes to TMR; any money received by TMR will come from fundraising undertaken by participants or by participants pledging support via the optional charity donation box on the event sign up page.

Registration
This will take place at Forfar Community Campus and will be clearly signposted on the day. Registration opens from:
- Sprint: 0900hrs
- Novice: 0950hrs
More information on race day timings will be published in the lead up to the event. Race numbers and swim caps are to be collected at registration along with any final details. Bikes must be racked on participants numbered slot before the race briefing (rear wheel in racking). Weather is changeable so please come prepared for all conditions.
Race Briefing
All participants must attend the pre-race briefing. This is a condition of participating.
- Sprint: 1005hrs
- Novice 1035hrs

Triathlon Scotland rules will apply to both races. See www.triathlonscotland.org for more details.
Format
All routes will be clearly marked with signs, markers and Event Marshals placed at key points throughout. However, it is the final responsibility of participants to turn in the correct place and complete the correct number of laps.
Car Parking
There are a limited number of parking spaces available at Forfar Community Campus. On street parking is available locally free of charge.
First Aid
Medical assistance will be provided along the route should it be required. If participants are unable to finish, try to walk to an Event Marshal or wait for the sweep vehicle, which will transport you (and your bike) if required back to Forfar Community Campus.
Refreshments
Refreshments are available to purchase from Madisons Cafe at Forfar Community Campus throughout the day.
