The EICUT65 is an exceptional adventure taking place in Heilbad Heiligenstadt on November 14, 2026. This 65km ultra-trail race starts and ends in Heilbad Heiligenstadt, leading through the city and over the heights of the Thüringer Becken with a view of Scharfenstein Castle, before traversing various forests and villages, along lakes, and over challenging trails.
Race Details
- Distance: 65 kilometers
- Route Highlights: Includes demanding climbs such as the Burgweg to Bodenstein Castle and over Bornberg, as well as varied sections through valleys and along rivers like the Walsgrund.
- Challenge: An ultratrail is an immense challenge requiring both physical endurance and mental strength.
Organization
- Online Registration: Open until 18:00 on the day before the race.
- Entry Fee: €65. Early bird discount of €10 if registered by the end of March.
- Bib Pickup: From 07:00 on race day at the start area.
- Late Registration: Free on race day from 07:00 - 07:30 at the start area.
- Start Time: 08:00.
- Time Limit: 11 hours, with a cut-off of 6 hours at Aid Station 2 "Burg Bodenstein" after kilometer 35.
- Timing: Electronic timing.
- Support Crew: Personal bike support is permitted (no separate registration required).
- Sustainability: Bring your own reusable drinking cup or hydration system to minimize waste.
- Support: A sweep vehicle and emergency transport are guaranteed.
- Award Ceremony: At 14:00 (Men) and 15:00 (Women) with trophy handover.
- Facilities: Changing rooms at the Vitalpark Therme are available. Personal items can be stored in a tent. Showers, swimming pool, and sauna access are available at the VitalPark Therme after the run.

Participation Conditions
By registering, participants acknowledge the race announcement and the organizer's disclaimer of liability for damages of any kind. Participants also confirm they will not file any claims against the organizer, officials, or related parties, except for liability insurance claims. No recourse is possible in cases of force majeure, postponement, or cancellation. The organizer is not liable for theft. Participants are strongly advised to take out liability and accident insurance. Participants confirm their training and health status meet the race requirements and that they are aware of the risks, participating at their own responsibility and risk. Registration fees are non-refundable, except if the entry is not accepted. Participants agree to the publication of race data, including results and images, in the media and consent to their data being stored electronically. Participants guarantee the accuracy of their provided information.
