Eagle River Triathlon - 2026 USA Triathlon Alaska State Championship
The Eagle River Triathlon offers a stunning course in Chugiak, Alaska, just 20 miles north of Anchorage. Known for its spectacular views and a fun, yet challenging bike course, it's a favorite among racers in Alaska. The State Championship events include the Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons. Alternative race options like the duathlon, team relay, and kids' race are also available.
Olympic Distance Triathlon
Swim: 1500M in the Chugiak High School pool. Bike: 40K (24.8 miles) double out and back. Run: 10K (6.2 miles) along the Chugach range and Glenn Hwy.
Sprint Distance Triathlon
Swim: 500yd in the Chugiak High School pool. Bike: 20K (12.4 miles). Run: 5k (3.1 miles).
Sprint & Olympic Distance Relay Teams
Teams of 2-3 racers compete in the same distances as the individual events.
Sprint Duathlon
Run: 1 mile on the Beach Lake ski trails. Bike: 20K (12.4 miles). Run: 5k (3.1 miles).
Kids Race
Two distances available: Long Course: 300 yard swim / 2-mile bike / ~1.2 mile run. Short Course: 50 yard swim / 1 mile bike / ~.6 mile run.
Donation Information
Support A.B.A.T.E. of Anchorage, a non-profit providing educational and training tools to the Alaska motorcycle community. They provide volunteers and support for the bike course and contribute to the "Christmas in July Toy Drive." Donations help provide toys to children in Anchorage-area hospitals.
