Dunton 10k at Langdon Nature Discovery Park
The Dunton event returns with a new 10 km trail race held at Langdon Nature Discovery Park in Basildon on Sunday 26 July 2026. The event is organised by Phoenix Striders and runs under Trail Runners Association permits and England Athletics rules. Total capacity is 200 places and entries remain open online until 12:00 on Saturday 25 July, with entries on the day available for an additional £2.
Distances and entry ages
- 10 km : minimum age 16
- Kiddies race : minimum age 2
The car park has limited space, so attendees should allow extra time for parking and number collection, which takes place at the discovery centre on race day. The discovery centre does not have changing facilities but has toilets and a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks, gifts and ice creams.
The course uses paths and trails within Langdon Hills and will raise funds for Essex Wildlife Trust and charities supported by Phoenix Striders, including Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and The Finish Line Fund, and Brighter Outcomes for Special People. Although the car park looks big it gets very busy so please car share where ever possible and park considerately (there is limited space)
Numbers will be collected on the day from the discovery centre. Please allow plenty of time for parking, getting to the Centre and number collection.
There are no changing facilties at the Centre, but there are toilets inside.
The Centre sells a range of Essex Wildlife Trust gifts and momentos, hot and cold drinks, hot and cold snacks, ice creams and sweets.
The Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Nature Discovery Park is offering the opportunity to run around the challenging paths and trails that make up part of Langdon Hills. This will raise funds for EWT and the charity supported by Phoenix Striders (Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and The Finish Line Fund).
