Dolgellau 5 Mile Road Race
The Dolgellau 5 mile road race, often called the "Dol 5", is a summer road race over 5 miles held in and around Dolgellau. The route begins with a steep climb out of town, then continues with downhill running back toward the finish and offers open views along the course. The event is described as having a friendly atmosphere and attracts both faster road runners and those running for enjoyment.
Race administration is based at Dolgellau Rugby Club LL40 1UU. Number pick up is at Race HQ and is open from 11:15 to 12:40. The race start is at the bottom of Llanfachreth Road, about a 10 minute walk from Race HQ (what3words ///solutions.unity.mascot). Bags are left at owners risk. Changing rooms are available but there are no showers.
Practical arrangements include parking at Marian Mawr and Glan Wnion Leisure Centre pay car parks; pay-by-phone is available. Water is provided at the finish and may be provided on course if temperatures are high. First aid is located at the finish and a defibrillator is available at Gwyndaf Evans Motors Marian Mawr. Prizes are awarded by male and female categories including Under 23 and several veteran age groups, and all finishers receive a memento. Entry is limited to 120 runners with tiered fees for affiliated and non‑affiliated entrants and higher on-the-day rates. There is no fun run this year.
