Dark Hollow Wallow
The Dark Hollow Wallow is a trail running event featuring 11 Mile, 5 Mile, and Kids Trail Mile races. The 11M and 5M races start at 2:00 pm, and the KIDS RACE starts at 1:30 pm. Starts/finishes at Big Ridge State Park on state highway 61 between Norris and Maynardville.
Courses:
- 11 Mile: A challenging eleven-mile course with hills.
- 5 Mile: A shorter but similarly challenging five-mile course.
- Kids Trail Mile: A mile-long trail for kids, preceding the main races.
Registration is open, with various pricing tiers including student and bundle options. Special limited edition T-shirts are available for the series. Grand Prix points are awarded for the 11 Miler and 5 Miler. Awards and prize drawings will be held at the annual KTC Holiday Party.
Course Etiquette: No headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades or pets on the course. A minimum pace of 18:00/mile is enforced.
Safety: Aid and water stations are provided, but runners are encouraged to carry their own water. Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for adult races.
