CraggRunner Sprint 5k
The CraggRunner Sprint 5k is scheduled for 13 June 2026 at the Steven Burke Sports Hub in Nelson. The event is organised by CraggRunner and is part of a 2026 series that includes four events. Entry is managed through SiEntries with entries opening 22 December 2025 and closing 10 June 2026. Entries on the day are allowed only if the race maximum is not reached and carry a fee.
The senior race distance is 5 km on a flat course at the Steven Burke cycle hub. Race allocation for seniors uses predicted times; participants are placed into one of six planned race waves with slower times scheduled earlier and faster times later. Chip timing is provided by Time My Race and results will be linked to Run Britain and Power of 10. The event is associated with Run Britain.
Junior races:
- u10: 1 km
- u12: 2 km
- u14: 3 km
Fifteen year olds run the senior race. Medals are awarded to the first three boys and first three girls in each junior race. There are no overall series prizes for the juniors. Facilities include portable toilets and water before and after races. There is no parking on the Sports Hub field; local road parking is requested.
Start times for seniors are from 1pm with 6 races planned every half hour. Junior races start at 11:30 am. Chip timing provided by 'TIME MY RACE'.
