Covestro Triathlon
The Covestro Triathlon takes place annually around the recreational area of the Elfrather See. Since 1988, the event has continuously developed and is now Krefeld's largest sporting event, with up to 1,500 participants and over 5,000 spectators. The course, with swimming in the Elfrather See, cycling on the fully closed motorway feeder road, running by the lake, and a centrally located transition zone, along with a supporting program for young and old, makes the triathlon a special experience for spectators and participants. Every year, around a thousand endurance athletes come to Krefeld on a Sunday in August to face the challenge of swimming, cycling, and running in one of the largest triathlon events in Germany. The next Covestro Triathlon will take place on August 30, 2026.
