Commodore 24 Hour Challenge
October 23, 2026, 6:00 PM at Gulf Coast State College.
This event challenges participants to run 1 mile every 30 minutes for 24 hours. Options include a 48-mile SOLO or a 2-person relay. Participants are encouraged to bring tents for their stay on the baseball field. Food and hydration will be provided, but participants should also bring their own. Runners must be at least 16 years of age. Registration closes October 22, 2026, 11:59 PM CT. To guarantee a shirt, sign up by October 1st. Pets are not allowed on campus.
Course
The one-mile course starts at the Gulf Coast State College baseball field, travels WEST through the round-about to the Military and Veterans Resource Center, hugs the right side of the parking lot to the Student Union West, and returns down the main parking lot to the baseball stadium. This course is USATF sanctioned.
Challenge Rules
- Race Start Time: 6 pm
- Run/Walk 1 Mile every 30 minutes
- Must start and finish within a 30-minute segment.
- Missing mile finish times results in disqualification.
- No "banking" miles within one 30-minute segment.
- 2-person teams share one bib and can exchange as desired.
- All runners will run the first and last lap together.
Awards & Swag
All registered runners receive a Commodore 24 Hour Challenge shirt and a finisher's medal. Awards for 1st place overall Male/Female, Masters Division, and Relay Teams (Male, Female, Co-ed, Masters). Fun superlative awards will also be given.
Safety Policy
Animals are not permitted. Strollers, wagons, and wheeled equipment are welcome but must start at the back. Contact organizers for accommodations for certified running wheelchairs or adaptive devices.
Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up begins at 2:00 PM on race day and must be picked up no later than 5:30 PM.
Refund Policy
Registrations are non-refundable. Transfers to another runner are permitted within designated deadlines.
