Colby Mountain Trailfest
Welcome to Colby Mountain Trailfest! A grassroots trail running celebration put together by Butte County Sheriff Search & Rescue, Chico Velo TrailWorks, and Bidwell Run Club. We are bringing together runners, trail advocates, and community members to experience and support the incredible Colby Mountain trail system. This event was created with a simple mission: give back to the trails that bring our community together. Every mile run helps support the ongoing development, maintenance, and stewardship of the Colby Mountain trails.
Net proceeds from the race will be split equally and directly benefit three local non-profits: Chico Velo Trailworks, Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue, and Bidwell Run Club - helping ensure these trails remain safe, sustainable, and accessible for runners, hikers, and cyclists for years to come.
Colby Mountain Trailfest blends endurance sport with environmental stewardship, creating an event where participants are not only racing through beautiful terrain but also investing in the future of the trails themselves. By participating, you become part of a growing movement focused on community, sustainability, and responsible trail use. Join us for the inaugural Colby Mountain Trailfest — a new trail running tradition in the making.

Early Bird Pricing: Sign up by August 1st, 2026.
Distances: 5k, 12k, and 24k
Race Swag: Each registered runner gets a T-shirt, Medal, and a Hydrapak re-usable cup.
Awards: Top 3 men & women, Top 3 for age group.
Lodging: Lodging in the area is very limited. Consider booking in advance. Nearby hotels are in Chico (approx. 45 mins away).
