City of Westlake Community Run
The City of Westlake Community Run is a special event for the whole family, being hosted by the Recreation Department and held in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Wellness Day. Come out and enjoy a run or walk through the beautiful City of Westlake and then stay for the Fair! Race begins and ends on the Recreation Center Campus.
Schedule:
- 7:30 AM - Registration/Packet Pick Up
- 8:15 AM - Kids Dash
- 8:30 AM - 5K Run/Walk, Speed Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk
Courses:
- 5K Run/Walk: 3.1 Miles, Chip Timed. Price: $35.00
- 5K Race Walk (Timed Speed Walk): 3.1 Miles, Chip Timed. Price: $35.00
- 1 Mile Walk: 1 Mile, Untimed. Price: $25.00
- Kids Dash: 100 Yards, Free. Price: $0.00
Speed walking differs from running in that it requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body.
Registration & Details:
- Event goodie bags guaranteed for the first 200 registered for the main run/walk.
- All Kids Dash participants will receive a race medal.
- Post-race refreshments, fruit, raffle prizes, and awards pick-up at the DJ booth.
- Pancake breakfast from 9 am to 11 am following the race. Each paid registration comes with a free ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased for $8.
- Race raffle prize winners will be announced during the pancake breakfast.
- Inflatable and DJ on site.
- Race Shirts are guaranteed for those who register and select a size on or before 8/31/26.
Awards:
- Top overall male & female as well as 5K racers finishing in the top three in each age group (10 & under to 70+).
- Speed Walk: Top 3 men and top 3 women overall. No age groups.
Safety & Wellness Fair:
The Safety & Wellness Fair starts at 10:00 am at the Westlake Recreation Center, hosted by University Hospitals and the City of Westlake.
