Chippewa Trail Races
Join us for the Chippewa Trail Races on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event features multiple distances including a 50K, 50K Relay, 20 Miler, and 10K, all primarily run on the scenic Ice Age Trail.
General Information
Location: David R. Obey (Chippewa Moraine) Ice Age Interpretive Center, 13394 Cty Hwy M, New Auburn, WI 54757.
Parking: Available at the Interpretive Center and along the driveway. Runners use the lower portion at the end of the race.
Packet Pick Up: Friday before the race (3-5 PM) and race morning (starting 6:30 AM) at the center.
Course Markings: Pink flags and pink ribbon.
Aid Stations: Stocked with snacks and hydration.
Cut-off Times: 9 hours for 50K, 7 hours for 20 Miler, 2 hours for 10K.
Awards: Top 3 male and female finishers in each event.
Finisher Prints: All finishers receive a full-color print.
Refund Policy: No refunds, transfers, or deferrals.
Event Details
- 50K: Starts 8:00 AM. Out-and-back course. Cut-off: 9 hours. Field Limit: 180 entries.
- 50K Relay: Starts 8:30 AM. 2-person team event using the 50K course. Limit: 35 teams.
- 20 Miler: Starts 8:30 AM. Out-and-back course. Cut-off: 7 hours. Field Limit: 150 entries.
- 10K: Starts 9:00 AM. Loop course. Cut-off: 2 hours. Field Limit: 120 entries.
Lodging Option
Camp Nawakwa offers cabins and yurts for rent at $50.00 per person per night.
Course Overview
The courses are primarily on the Ice Age Trail, offering a true trail running experience with single-track paths through forests, lakes, and rolling terrain. Expect roots, rocks, small hills, and one major climb. Landmarks include views of over 20 lakes, Rattlesnake Hill, Three Sisters Boardwalk, and a bridge through a pine swamp.
