Cardston Chase

Course overview and features:

• The event starts and finishes around the Lions Park track/football field and uses the adjacent nature trail and town sidewalks.
• The 1K kids dash finishes with a clockwise lap of the track; a friendly Cougar mascot accompanies the children and music and announcements mark the finish. The top finisher in each age male and female will get a medal! Age categories are 5&Under, 6-9, 10-12.
• The 5K follows the nature trail, includes a 121 foot (37 meter) elevation climb with views of the Rocky Mountains and Old Chief Mountain, crosses a bypass bridge closed to traffic for the race, passes Lee Creek Valley Golf Course, and returns along a scenic river valley trail to the track finish. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female in each distance, and medals are given to the top two finishers in each age category for the 1K, 5K and 10K. Age categories for 5K: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24... every 5 years... 70+.
• The 10K combines nature trail and paved paths, routes by the bike park and along 9th avenue and Beazer road to a turnaround point, and features countryside and mountain views. Age categories for 10K: 9 & under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39...every ten years..70+.
