Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass
It's FatAss Time at Capitol Peak! It's that time of year when you just need to get out and run up a mountain in cold and wet conditions. This year, the Capitol Peaks Mega Fat Ass is an Olytrailrunners Race. We are returning to the old low key approach that makes this Fat Ass so much fun!
Race Description: The Capitol Peak MegaFatAss has two distance options, 17miles or 34 miles. Since this is a Fat Ass, there is no food at the aid stations except some water, no awards, or T shirts! You will need to be self supported, so no WHINING! There will be post race soup provided!
The Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass is a fundraiser for the Friends of Capitol Forest, the group that maintains these great trails we run on. And we also donate to the South Sound Mobile Search and Rescue, so you know your race fee is going to a good cause! If you like, we'll also be taking additional donations on race-day.

The Annual Capitol Peak Mega Fat Ass will be run Saturday, January 18th, 2025. We'll have two different distances: a 17-miler & a 34-miler. The start/finish will be at the Margaret McKenny Campground, 10900 Waddell Creek Rd SW, Olympia, WA 98512
The start is at 8am for the 50K, 9:00am for the 25K. Check-in for the 50K starts at 7:00am and check-in for the 25K starts at 8:00am.
DISCOVER PASS: Everyone will need to separately purchase a Discover Pass to park your car at the . McKenny Campground which is the start/finish area. You can buy an annual pass for $30, or a day-pass for $10. Please purchase online before you drive to the start! The DNR enforcement officer will be checking for Discover Passes displayed in your front window otherwise he will write you a ticket!.
