The Smokey Connection
In 1950, a badly burned black bear cub named "Hotfoot" was found by firefighters in Lincoln National Forest. This brave little survivor became Smokey Bear, America's wildfire prevention icon. Now, you can run where Smokey's story began, adding your own tale of endurance to these historic grounds.
