Candle Lake Fun Run
The Candle Lake Fun Run is a community event that raises funds and awareness for mental health initiatives in Saskatchewan. It is organized by a volunteer group and takes place on the paths of the Candle Lake Golf Resort.
Distances offered:
- 5 km walk/run
- 10 km run
The route follows the golf course paths. Two water stations are set up on course at about 3.5 km and around 7 km. A first aid station will be located at the start/finish area and medical aid will be available on site. Pets are not allowed at the event site or on the golf course except service dogs for visually impaired participants.
Finishers receive a medal and can pick up a post-run snack at the Communities in Bloom tent. The Rock Ridge event tent will offer food and refreshments for purchase. Event features include live music, food trucks, costume prizes, group costume prizes, and a Cargill Kidz Zone with activities.
Registrations are open until September 8, 2026 and the event is limited to 550 participants. Entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds. Proceeds support mental health programs in Saskatchewan and community programs in Candle Lake. An online silent auction raised $8,500 in 2025; the 2026 auction date is to be announced. Accommodations at the Candle Lake Golf Resort include rooms, cabins and townhouses with a special rate for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
