Canaqua Sports Endurance Training at Cherry Beach
Calling all open water swimmers and swimrunners. YOU ARE INVITED to Cherry Beach for a summer of training at the summer home of Canaqua Sports Endurance Training. Now in its 6th season, this program brings swimmers and swimrunners together to train in an organized group, where no one trains alone. Join us for either 1, 2, or 3 times a week and enjoy a great morning swim. Our focus is on building endurance for open water swimming while teaching basic skills that are required to be successful in both open water swimming and swimrun.
Run by long-time Owner of Thornhill Multisport and Canaqua Sports, former National level swimmer, Race Director, and open water swim advocate, Ian Feldman, this program focuses on building endurance while teaching the skills required to succeed in Open Water Swimming and swimrun.
NEVER SWIM ALONE
Workouts will consist of swim sessions ranging from 500 meters to 5 km, depending on each swimmer's ability and level. Come and join us for a great summer of training!
Dates: June 27, 2026, to August 29, 2026
- Saturdays 7:30 - 8:30 AM
- Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 - 8:00 AM
Mudskipper SWIMRUN Club
The Mudskipper SwimRun Challenge is growing across Canada and and includes races across North America. With so many people saying that they are interested but are not sure how it works, our training program is geared to help people learn the basics of SwimRun while practicing all of the elements required to succeed in the unique sport.
Training Time: Saturday at 8.30 AM for one hour.

NEW FOR 2026 OPEN WATER DROP-IN PROGRAM
Are you planning on being in the Toronto area this summer, and are looking for a place to swim? Canaqua Sports is pleased to announce our new OPEN WATER DROP-IN program. Simply email us, and let us know you are coming and when you will be in the area, and drop in to any of our sessions. Each Individual Session costs $15.00
Rules:
- Swimmers must be able to swim 400 meters without stopping.
- Swimmers must always swim in pairs or more.
- Any beginner swimmer or anyone who is trying open water for the first time MUST wear a wetsuit.
- All swimmers must have a buoy.
- Everyone must wear a bathing cap. (To be provided by Canaqua Sports)
- We typically do not swim in temperatures below 15 degrees, although that is not a rule.
- Swimmers swim at their own risk and must sign a waiver.
