Campobello Coastal Challenge
The Campobello Coastal Challenge takes place on August 22, 2026 at Roosevelt Campobello International Park on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. The event is presented in partnership with Herring Cove Provincial Park and Dutch Viking Events. A portion of registrations will be donated to the Campobello Island food bank.
The course links two parks and a variety of terrain: forested trails, rocky beaches, coastal cliffs, bog boardwalks and stands of old growth Acadian Forest. One section includes a 2.7 km stretch of beach. Wildlife sightings from the route can include bald eagles, seals, porpoises and whales.
Distances:
- 50 km double loop, about 31 miles
- 25 km loop
- 10 km loop
The 25 km and 50 km routes start at the park core and traverse rocky coastal outcrops, tidal bogs and the beach before returning through forest to the start line. The 10 km follows the 25 km route for several kilometers before diverting inland into Herring Cove and joining the same final leg.
Aid stations are placed at key points on the courses and offer water, Skratch and assorted nutrition. The event is cup-less so participants must bring a personal cup, bottle or hydration bladder. There are washrooms along the course and first aid at the start/finish area. Dogs and strollers are not permitted. There are no refunds or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
