Calderdale Way Ultra
The Calderdale Way Ultra is a trail running event based in Heptonstall that follows the Calderdale Way route around Halifax, Hebden Bridge, and Todmorden. The event uses clear trail markers and follows old packhorse ways across open gritstone hillsides, with sections of traditional stone causeway and passages through hillside villages and mill towns on the banks of the River Calder.
Distances
There are two distance options:
- 50 miles
- 30 miles
50-mile Ultra
Starting and finishing in Heptonstall, this circular route is served by seven vegan-friendly aid stations and a bag drop at checkpoint 5. The race has a 17-hour overall cut-off and two non-negotiable cut-offs: reach Withens Clough (checkpoint 5) by 19:00 and Great Rock (checkpoint 7) by 23:00.
30-mile Ultra
Starting at Brookfoot Lock in Brighouse, this event uses four of the seven vegan-friendly aid stations. Participants must reach Todmorden Sports Centre (checkpoint 6) by 16:30.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times.
Registration
Heptonstall: Friday 30th, 6-8 PM or Saturday 1st, 6-7 AM.
30-mile event: Option to register at Heptonstall & purchase a bus slot to the start, or register at the start line in Brighouse on Saturday 1st, 8:00-8:45 AM.
