Calderdale Crawl 2026
Calderdale LDWA presents the Calderdale Crawl, a 24-mile walk or run designed to showcase the beautiful and undulating landscape of the Calderdale area. The event starts and finishes at Heath Rugby Club near Halifax.
The route will take participants through a variety of terrains, including footpaths, woods, tracks, and fields, with a scenic stretch alongside the River Calder and the canal. There will be a midway indoor checkpoint at Ripponden, as well as other outdoor checkpoints along the course. A detailed route description and GPX file will be provided before the event.
Refreshments and Finishers' Memento
Refreshments will be available at the start, at various points en route, and a meal will be provided at the finish. To minimize waste and the use of plastic, participants are kindly asked to bring their own mug for drinks.
All finishers will receive a certificate and a memento to commemorate their achievement. Free car parking is available on site at the Heath Rugby Club.
Entry Details and Discounts
Discounted entry is available for LDWA members. Membership costs from £15 per year (January-December). Details on how to join can be found at https://www.ldwa.org.uk/membership/join/join.php.
Entry fees are £14.00 for LDWA members and £19.00 for non-members. Entries open on Thursday, 1st January 2026, and close on Sunday, 19th July 2026.
Participant Information
Young persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an Appropriate Adult, Parent, or Guardian.
Well-behaved dogs belonging to responsible owners are welcome and must be kept under full control at all times. Please note that dogs may not be allowed inside the Rugby Club. LDWA requirements regarding liability insurance for dogs must be adhered to.
