BULL DAM TRAIL RUN
This is a fun and unique local trail running event with combined wide trails and single-track trails for all skill levels. Your choice of three trail events.
- 1.) 5k trail walk/ run (1 lap): Wide gravel and grass trails. Dogs and strollers permitted.
- 2.) 10k trail run (1 lap): Wide grass gravel along with dirt single track, no major water crossings.
- 3.) Half Marathon trail run (2 laps): 10k+ course, same as the 10k course, no major water crossings.
All monies raised will go to support local youth/ Boy Scout development activities.
Cancellations/Changes: The event may be canceled, changed, or postponed due to government agency cancellations (e.g., Covid restrictions) or extreme inclement weather (lightning, high winds, hail). We will follow guidelines from the Pennsylvania State Government, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and North East Area Emergency Management Agency.
Post-Race Refreshments: We aim to have a post-race breakfast of waffles and sausage, and possibly bacon, subject to health department permits. We will have some sort of post-race refreshments that meet safety guidelines, such as local fruits and prepackaged snacks.
Event Details:
- Timing: Results will be available online within minutes.
- Start: All events start at the same time, 7:30 AM, with a "Soft Start or Rolling Start" within a 5-minute window (7:30-7:35 AM). Bibs are RF chipped and read at the start. Your event starts when you cross the start line.
- Finish: Video recorded finish. Bibs read RF chips at the finish. Results are calculated based on chip start and finish times.
- Soft Start Benefits: Intended to spread out crowding at water stations, trails, and porta-potties, enabling social distancing.
- Water Stations: Self-serve for refills, with staff to restock supplies, clean up, and assist runners in need.
- Official Start/Finish Lines: Equipped with RF sensors.
Course Information:
- 5K Run/Walk Course: Around the reservoir, unflagged for most of the course, one lap. Keep the water to the same side as when you started.
- 10k & 13.1-mile Course: In the woods, fully flagged with flags 30-50 feet apart. Caution tape will be used in confusing areas.
Course tear-down begins at 11:30 AM. Flags and caution tape must be removed within 48 hours as required by the North East Borough.
Onsite Registration:
- Registration/Payments must be done online via Runsign-up (smartphone or online).
- Some bibs available for same-day registration. Cash Only unless registering on-site via phone.
By signing up, you understand that we will do whatever we must to have this race onsite. If the race is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, there will be no refunds.
