Buckeye Ultra 200 Mile Road Race
Register Thursday, Aug 13, 2026 @ 7:00 AM. This approximately 203-mile road run goes from Walnut Beach at Lake Erie to Wellsville, OH. Runners will experience mountain foothills, post-steel industry cities, Amish country, and lakefront streets. It's an out-and-back adventure starting and finishing on the beach. There's just under 6,000ft of total climb, with long flat segments and about 70 miles of rolling hills. A 6-day time limit requires runners to average about 34 miles/day. Crews are encouraged but not required. Many runners successfully complete it self-supported. There are no official aid stations; runners rely on themselves or crews for supplies. Those unable to finish need to self-extract. Transportation back to vehicles may involve a wait. Stores, diners, and shops are plentiful between 6 am and 9-10 pm. Several hotels are along the course. Finishers receive a buckle, award, and other items. Experienced ultra runners with long-distance open road experience are recommended. Please note: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS, DEFERRALS, OR TRANSFERS.
100-mile option: Begins Friday, August 14th at 7:00 AM at Wellsville Nicholson Stadium, finishing at Walnut Beach. Participants need their own transportation to the start. Cutoff is 72 hours. No refunds or deferrals.
Giving Back: $20 from each entry goes to the Wellsville High School athletic department.
500-mile award: Those completing 500 official miles on the Buckeye course receive the '500 Lifetime Miles' award.
Course Record: Men's record: 53:56:59 (Alex Ramsey, 2023). Women's record: 58:08:36 (Aneta Zeppetella, 2022). Breaking the record earns $100 and free entry to future events.
