Blithfield Olympic Triathlon & Aquabike
The event takes place at Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire, a 790 acre reservoir opened in 1952. Much of the surrounding woodland is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The race format is a standard multi-discipline course with separate options for aquabike, individual triathlon, and relay teams. The swim is held in the reservoir's deep water and uses two laps. The bike leg is also two laps on a rolling and relatively fast course, with a total elevation gain of 355 m. The run finishes the race with two laps on a mixture of trail and road surfaces and 22 m of elevation.
