7TH ANNUAL BLESSING OF THE BIKES AND RUNNERS
HAVE YOUR BIKE AND RUNNING SHOES BLESSED!! HONORING OUR FALLEN HEROES
Join us on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 9:00 am at St. Joseph Cathedral, 401 Main Street, Baton Rouge, LA, for the Blessing of the Bikes and Runners. Hosted by VS Tour de Friends, Baton Rouge Bike Club, and Varsity Sports.
Father Cary Bani will bless your bike and running shoes for a safe training season. In addition, we will be Honoring Our Fallen Heroes from that tragic day on 7/17/2016, and past fallen heroes from Louisiana.
Bicycle Ride Details:
- Fast Riders (16-17 mph): Meet at the L'Auberge Casino Overflow parking lot at 7:15 am to roll out at 7:30 am.
- Slow Riders: Meet at the L'Auberge Casino Overflow parking lot at 7:45 am to roll out at 8:00 am.
- Alternative Meeting Point: Meet at the Past Time Restaurant and follow the last mile.
Runners and Cyclists: Please gather in the church parking lot by 9:00 am. Runners will meet downtown (TBA).
Wear Blue to Honor Law Enforcement, Red to Honor Firefighters, White to Honor Emergency Medical Personnel.
This is an amazing opportunity for all Cyclists and Runners to have their lives, bikes and running shoes blessed for a safe season, while providing camaraderie, friendship and the promotion of cycling and runner safety.
