Blackshaw Head Fete Fell Race
The Blackshaw Head Fete Fell Race is scheduled for Saturday 5 September 2026 in Blackshaw Head, Hebden Bridge. The course is 8.9 km with 274 m of ascent and starts and finishes at the fete field near Blackshaw Head Chapel (postcode HX77JY, grid ref 959276).
The route is partially flagged. Competitors are responsible for following the route and for their own safety while on the course.
Entry is on the day with a donation required to enter the fete field; there is no pre-entry. Entries are limited to 150 competitors. The published entry fee is £6 and the minimum age on the day is 18. All profits will be donated to local charities.
Minimum equipment requirements include a waterproof whole body cover (jacket and trousers with taped seams), hat, gloves, whistle, and a map. Specific minimum kit requirements will be specified on race day and kit checks will be carried out. Participants who do not meet the kit requirements will not be allowed to run.
Prizes are distributed across open, women, veteran categories (V40, V50, V60, V70), team categories, and local awards. The event operates a one prize per person policy. Recorded course bests are 40:58 for the female record (2009) and 34:37 for the male record (2022).
