Bideford Half Marathon
The Bideford Half Marathon is a certified half marathon with a Certificate of Course Accuracy (20/085) and is listed with England Athletics RunEvents (licence number 30620 on the 2026 programme). The measured course starts and finishes close to the Bideford Amateur Athletic Club clubhouse and runs along the River Torridge between Bideford and Great Torrington.
The route heads out on roads and returns on the Tarka Trail, including a short tunnel. The course is described as moderately flat with a small hill section. Mile markers are used throughout and the final 800 metres are marked every 100 metres. The route is marshalled and water stations are provided at approximately 4, 7 and 9 miles.
All finishers receive a medal and a T-shirt; T-shirt sizes are allocated from original entries and can only be substituted after finishers’ shirts have been handed out. Race results are published on the day and remain provisional for 48 hours. Prize structure includes cash awards for the first six men and women, category prizes up to V75, and a cash bonus for a new course record (current records male 01:05:35, female 01:16:35).
Event facilities include portable toilets, clubhouse changing rooms and showers, baggage store, and on-site refreshments. Pay and display parking is available within walking distance, including Cattle Market and Riverbank car parks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
