Beats for a Cure: Battling Cancer Through Music
Join Beats for a Cure, a non-profit organization that harnesses the power of music to fund cancer research and support. Initially focused on breast cancer, the organization has expanded its mission to include prostate cancer, multiple myeloma, and specifically for this event, childhood cancer. This unique event offers a chance to run through the vibrant Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, with all proceeds benefiting University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital. Your participation helps us in the fight to find a cure.
Fundraising Opportunities: During registration, you can choose to become a fundraiser or create/join a fundraising team. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers. All funds raised are TAX DEDUCIBLE and directly support childhood cancer initiatives at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
Race Day Schedule:
- Registration: 7:00 AM
- Race Start: 5K & 1M - 8:30 AM
- Awards: Approximately 9:30 AM
Race Details:
- Distances: 5K Run/Walk, 1M Run/Walk
- Timing: 5K chip timing, 1M untimed
- Divisions: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Registration Information:
Race-day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM across from the Ticket Plaza inside the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo (3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland, Ohio 44109).
Mailed Entries: Make checks payable to "Hermes Sports and Events." Must be received by Monday, August 10th. Mail to: Hermes Sports and Events, 2425 W. 11th St. Suite 2, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.
Fees:
- Pre-Registration 5K (Before August 29th): $40 (over 18), $30 (18 and under)
- Race Day Registration 5K: $45 (over 18), $35 (18 and under)
- Pre-Registration 1M Walk (Before August 29th): $30 (over 18), $20 (18 and under)
- Race Day Registration 1M Walk: $35 (over 18), $25 (18 and under)
- Virtual Run: $50
- Spectator: $12
- Family Registration: $5 off per participant (4-10 members)
All tickets include all-day admission to the zoo.

- Top 3 in each age category for the 5K

Virtual Run Details:
Participate from anywhere! Complete the 5K or 1-mile course on your own, choosing your location and time. Submit 5K results by Sunday, September 6th. Participants registering by June 30, 2026, will receive their shirt before race week. Registrations after this date will have shirts mailed post-race. We encourage sharing photos of your virtual participation.

Refund Policy:
All entries are non-refundable. Race numbers are non-transferable, and entry fees cannot be applied to future races.
