Atlanta Fat Ass 50K - January 4, 2026
Join us for the annual Atlanta FatAss, providing low-key, post holiday fun since 1994. Burn off those holiday pounds & run more than anyone has the right to enjoy! Please remember: no wimps, no fees, no problem! While this is a FatAss event, there will be plenty of aid station fare to keep you going.
GUTS Members Only! This is a GUTS event and is FREE, but is only open to 2026 GUTS members. Membership will open on November 1st on Ultrasignup - GetGUTS
Course
The course is 6 loops on the WHITE trails (counter-clockwise/down Jack's and up the stairs). The trail can be technical in some spots (think roots, rocks, boulders). Poles are allowed but most people do not use them.The course will be very well marked with bright tape/flags. Start/Finish will be at the Group Shelter. CUTOFF: Runners must start the final loop by 3:00 PM.
FatAss Crockpot Chili Contest
Bring your best chili and vie for a years worth of bragging rights! Please bring the chili in a crockpot because we don't have enough burners on the stove for everyone. GUTS will provide the bowls and utensils as well some yummy chili toppings. Each runner will be given a ballot to vote for their favorite chili. The more chili you bring - the more post-race food we will have. Read that again: The chili that you bring IS the post-race food!
Parking and Packet pickup
Packet pickup at group shelter on race morning starting at 7:00am. Parking in Group Shelter parking lot or adjacent parking area. Please follow signs and directions of volunteers. There is a $10 (this new rate in effect 1/1/26) State Park parking fee (or you can use your annual GA State Park pass). Fee will be collected upon your arrival into the park, so please have $10 or your annual park pass handy. Georgia Annual State Park passes are a great way to support our parks, and may be purchased at the park headquarters or online.
