Amherstburg Canada Day 5K 2026
The Amherstburg Canada Day 5 km takes place in front of Fort Malden Historic Park at 100 Laird Ave in Amherstburg's historic downtown. The event offers multiple participation formats and community-focused activity on Canada Day.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: 1 km
- 5 km Run
- 5 km Walk
- 5 km Wheel (includes wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters; caregiver fee may be covered)
All registrants receive a medal. Adult participants are guaranteed a shirt if registered by May 1; Kids Dash participants do not receive shirts but receive a medal and items in their race packet. Timing is chipped and managed by WRACE; walkers start a few minutes after runners but still receive an official time.
The course runs through the historic downtown core, includes locations where local firefighters provide cooling spray, and passes areas with spectator support. Race kit pickup is scheduled the day before at the Amherstburg Libro Centre and on race day at Fort Malden. The event is volunteer run and proceeds are donated to the Essex Region Conservation Foundation for regional conservation projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
