Aberfoyle Trail Run 2026
The Aberfoyle Trail Run 2026 is a community running event set in the wild and beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park in Aberfoyle, Scotland. The event offers two distances designed for different age groups and abilities.
10k Trail Run
This scenic route covers mixed trails, single track, and unmade ground, starting and finishing in Aberfoyle. The course will be signposted and marshalled, and participants are responsible for their own safety, ensuring they are appropriately dressed and trained for the event and weather conditions.
1k Trail Run
A flat trail run suitable for primary school-aged children, located within walking distance of the village. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and have appropriate clothing and footwear.
Organized by: Aberfoyle Primary School and Nursery Parent Council. All funds raised go to the school, with additional donations to Aberfoyle Brownies and Trossachs Radio.
Timing: Both runs feature electronic chip timing, with results available immediately after crossing the finish line.
Licensing: The event is licensed under a Scottish Athletics Permit and supported by ProTay.
Entry Fees & Limits:
- 10k: £20 (age 18+). Entry limit: 200 participants.
- 1k: £5 (primary school age with responsible adult). Entry limit: 50 participants.
- Levy: A £3 levy applies for non-Scottish Athletics members (under 9s are exempt).
Important Notes: No deferrals or refunds will be issued. On-the-day registration opens at Aberfoyle Memorial Hall at 8 am, closing at 10 am for the 1k and 10:45 am for the 10k. Runners should be at the start line 10 minutes prior to their race time.
Parking: No official parking is available, but ample parking can be found at Aberfoyle main car park. Car sharing is encouraged.
Amenities: Aberfoyle offers various pubs, coffee shops, and gift shops for refreshments and souvenirs. Unique event T-shirts are available for purchase.
