5 Peaks - Gold Bar
This race is the third event in the 5 Peaks Northern Alberta series and takes place at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton, along the North Saskatchewan River. The park features hard pack trails, technical singletrack and the area known as Esso Hill. The location is used by residents in both summer and winter.
The course begins with about 2 kilometres of hard pack trail, then climbs toward Goldstick Park and into singletrack. An aid station sits at the top of a steep climb. After the aid station the route returns through singletrack to the park, continues out to 50 Street and loops back to the park. The 3 km kids race uses singletrack sections.
