The 5. Balzburg Marathon will take place in Ellerdorf on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The event features a marathon of 42.8 km and a relay race.

Start Time: 9:00 AM for Marathon and Relay runners. Early start at 6:00 AM for marathon runners expecting to take over six hours. Please notify the organizer via email for early starts.

- Balzburg Marathon: 42.8 km loop. The course is marked but not closed to traffic; adherence to traffic regulations is mandatory. - Staffellauf (Relay Race): The marathon course is used for the relay with four changeover points. It can also be run by two or three people, with a maximum of four starters.
Course Description
The 42.8 km course starts in Ellerdorf and goes through the countryside towards Bokelbahnhof, Neu York, and Kiebitzhörn (approx. 5 km, VP1). The route continues to Brammerau (approx. 10 km, VP2, first relay changeover) via Bokelfeld. From Brammerau, it heads into the hilly Holtdorfer Gehege, reaching VP3 (with toilets) at the sports field in Bargstedt (approx. 21 km, VP4, second relay changeover). The course then passes through the Gehege Himmelreich and Möreler Niederungen to Gnutz Moor (approx. 30 km, VP6). After Gnutz, VP7 and the third relay changeover occur at the sports field (approx. 34 km). The route continues to Nortorf, with VP8 near the fitness studio "Fitness and more" (approx. 38 km). Finally, it returns to Ellerdorf via Thienbüttel and the "Liebesweg" to the finish line.
Relay Details
- The first runner covers 10 km to VP2 in Brammerau.
- The second runner covers 11 km to VP4 in Heikenborstel.
- The third runner covers 13 km to VP7 at the Gnutz sports field.
- The fourth runner covers the final 9 km to the finish.
